What a keratin treatment is

A keratin treatment is a conditioning service in which a keratin-based formula is worked into the hair and sealed with the heat of a flat iron. It fills the damaged cuticle, smooths the surface and tames frizz, leaving hair more manageable and glossy.

It is not chemical straightening: the curl's structure is not broken permanently. The effect washes out gradually over 3–5 months and the hair eases back to its natural texture, with no harsh line of regrowth.
