The short answer
Nail extensions are on the menu at all three UNIQUE PERSONA salons. Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina both price a set at AED 490. Palm Jumeirah prices it at AED 490, AED 590 or AED 700, depending on whether the work is done by a Master, a Top Master or an Art Director.
Those three Palm figures are not length options. All four nail categories on the Palm list run across the same three grades, and nail extension is one of them. Length is priced separately at exactly one branch: Downtown Dubai adds AED 200 for an extra long set, and neither of the other two lists carries a length row at all.
What is a nail extension?
An extension adds length past the end of your own nail. An overlay does not: it goes onto the nail you already have, however hard the product sets.
All three price lists draw that line with the price. Downtown Dubai charges AED 95 for a Hard Gel Overlay and AED 490 for a Nail Extension. Dubai Marina charges AED 95 for a Hard Gel Application and AED 490 for a Nail Extension. Palm Jumeirah charges AED 95, AED 115 or AED 140 for a Hard Gel Application and AED 490, AED 590 or AED 700 for a Nail Extension.
So if you are quoted AED 95 for something described as hard gel, you are being quoted for work on your own nails rather than for added length.
Which of gel, hard gel and acrylic is actually on the menu?
Gel polish and hard gel are two different products, and both appear on all three lists.
Gel polish is the colour coat. Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina charge AED 120 to apply it; Palm Jumeirah charges AED 120, AED 145 or AED 175. Removal is AED 35 at Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina, and AED 35, AED 45 or AED 55 at Palm Jumeirah.
Hard gel does a structural job, which is why the hard gel application row is named reinforcement rather than coating on the Russian side of all three lists. Downtown Dubai lists it twice: AED 95 for a Hard Gel Overlay, available only alongside a gel polish manicure, and AED 140 for Hard Gel in clear with no colour. Dubai Marina lists a single Hard Gel Application at AED 95. Palm Jumeirah lists three: Hard Gel Application at AED 95, AED 115 or AED 140, Hard Gel Color at AED 140, AED 170 or AED 200, and Hard Gel Creative at AED 185, AED 220 or AED 265.
Acrylic appears on none of the three menus, in either language and under no other name. If you are currently wearing acrylic and want it removed, ask the branch directly, because there is no row on any of the lists that covers it.
How much do nail extensions cost in Dubai?
Downtown Dubai keeps its extension work inside the manicure section: a Nail Extension is AED 490 and a Nail Extension Refill is AED 420. An Extra Long Length Upgrade adds AED 200. Single nails are handled under nail styling, where a refill per nail is AED 60 and the correction of one gel nail is AED 30. Design add-ons such as ombre, French and glitter are AED 60.
Dubai Marina has a five-row Nail Extensions section and prices design into the row rather than beside it. A Nail Extension is AED 490 and a Creative Nail Extension is AED 550. A Refill is AED 420 and a Creative Refill is AED 470. Removal starts at AED 150.
Palm Jumeirah carries the longest nail extension list of the three, at ten rows, and every one of them runs across Master, Top Master and Art Director. A Nail Extension is AED 490, AED 590 or AED 700. Creative is AED 550, AED 660 or AED 790. A Refill is AED 420, AED 505 or AED 605, and a Creative Refill is AED 470, AED 565 or AED 675. Removal is AED 150, AED 180 or AED 215. Single nails are priced too: a refill per nail at AED 60, AED 70 or AED 80, and the correction of one gel nail at AED 30, AED 35 or AED 40. Palm also prices individual artwork in three levels, from AED 15 per nail at level one to AED 43 per nail at level three with an Art Director.
What changes the price?
Three things do. One thing that sounds as though it should does not.
Who does the work matters only at Palm Jumeirah, which is the one branch that tiers its nail prices by grade. The same Nail Extension row is AED 490 with a Master and AED 700 with an Art Director, a spread of AED 210 on identical wording. Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina quote one figure per row.
Length matters only at Downtown Dubai, the one branch that prices it as its own line, at AED 200 for an extra long set. Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah carry no length row anywhere on their lists, so it is worth raising at the consultation rather than assuming either way.
Design is priced at all three branches, and each does it a different way. Dubai Marina charges a flat AED 60 to make a set creative and the same AED 60 to make a refill creative. Palm Jumeirah charges AED 60 at Master level, AED 70 at Top Master and AED 90 at Art Director, then prices per-nail artwork separately on top of that. Downtown Dubai prices ombre, French and glitter at AED 60 as an additional service.
Shape does not appear as a priced line anywhere on the three lists.
What to ask before the appointment
Four things the price lists leave open.
If you are going to Palm Jumeirah, ask which grade your quote is for. AED 490 and AED 700 are the same row.
Removal is worth pinning down. Dubai Marina quotes from AED 150, which is a floor rather than a fixed price. Palm Jumeirah quotes AED 150, AED 180 or AED 215. Downtown Dubai does not price extension removal on its list at all, so it needs asking rather than assuming.
There is also the question of what happens when one nail breaks. Downtown Dubai and Palm Jumeirah both price single-nail work, so a break does not have to mean redoing the set. Dubai Marina's list carries no per-nail row.
