A manicure that says more about you than words ever could.

Manicure and pedicure are on the menu at all three salons, alongside nail extensions, gel and hard gel work, and P.Shine. What changes between the branches is how the list is written rather than what is done: Downtown Dubai prices its manicures by finish — no polish, regular polish or gel — while Palm Jumeirah prices across specialist tiers and Dubai Marina splits a classic manicure from a file one.

The technique underneath is the dry, electric-file method. There is no soaking bowl, because water swells the skin around the nail and makes it harder to see where living tissue ends. A rotating bit lifts the eponychium and clears the pterygium, the thin band of dead tissue sitting on the plate itself, which is what a classic manicure leaves behind. Colour then goes on closer to the base, so regrowth takes longer to become visible.

Only Downtown Dubai uses the words Russian manicure on its price list. Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah list the same electric-file technique as a File or Apparat manicure, so ask for the technique rather than the label if you are booking anywhere other than Downtown.

Extensions, refills and removal are on all three lists, as is P.Shine, the Japanese buffing treatment, and hard gel overlay for strengthening the natural nail. Pedicure runs the same way: Downtown adds paraffin, a foot scrub and a foot spa ritual, Dubai Marina a foot ritual and a foot massage, and Palm Jumeirah a foot ritual alongside its classic and apparat pedicures. Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah also list podology, which is medical foot work rather than a cosmetic pedicure.

The file works within a millimetre or two of living tissue, so the standard of the work and the state of the tooling matter more here than in a classic manicure. Instruments are autoclave-sterilised and files are single-use across all three salons. Most people return every three to four weeks, an interval set by how fast your nails grow rather than by the technique.
