Lash Lift, Lash Lamination or Extensions? What the Menu Actually Says

The short answer

Lash extensions and lash lamination are two different things. Extensions bond new lashes to your own, one by one, and start at AED 400 for a classic set at all three UNIQUE PERSONA salons. Lamination works on the lashes you already have, and nothing is added to them.

A lash lift is the same treatment as lash lamination. The menu here calls it lamination, and it is AED 350 or AED 420 depending on the specialist, at Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah. Downtown Dubai does not list it.

What are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are a treatment in which a single extension, for a classic set, or a fan of several very fine ones, for a volume set, is bonded to each of your natural lashes. The technician works with tweezers under magnification, isolating each natural lash so that the adhesive never sticks two of them together.

Before any lash is applied, a lash map is drawn: length, curl and thickness are chosen so the shape opens the eye without overloading your own lashes. Getting the weight right is what keeps the natural lashes healthy underneath.

That mapping step is why the appointment runs one and a half to two and a half hours, and why the same request can produce different lengths on two different eyes.

Classic, 2D, 3D or Hollywood: what the tiers mean

All three branches list the same four extension tiers, and the names describe how many extensions go onto each natural lash.

Classic is one extension to one natural lash, which reads closest to a good coat of mascara. 2D and 3D apply a fan of two or three very fine lashes to each natural lash. Hollywood is the fullest set on the menu.

Both classic and volume are safe when the weight is chosen correctly. The set is mapped to your own lashes rather than to a photograph, and maximum volume is not the goal.

Is a lash lift the same as lash lamination?

Yes, they are the same treatment under two names. UNIQUE PERSONA uses lamination on its menus, which is why searching the price list for a lash lift turns up nothing, and why asking for one at reception gets you a lamination booking.

It works on the lashes you already have. Nothing is added and no extensions are involved, which is the whole difference between it and a set of extensions.

Two of the three branches offer it. Dubai Marina lists it as Lash Lamination and Palm Jumeirah as Eyelash Lamination, both at AED 350 with a Master or AED 420 with a Top Master. Downtown Dubai does not list it: Downtown carries Brow Lamination at AED 350 but no lash equivalent, so book Marina or the Palm.

What do lashes cost in Dubai?

Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah price their lash work across two staff tiers, Master and Top Master, so each service shows two figures. Downtown Dubai lists a single price per service with no tier split.

How often do extensions need a refill?

Every three to four weeks. Natural lashes shed and renew constantly and take their extensions with them, so a refill tops the set back up rather than replacing it.

How long a set holds depends on your aftercare and on your own lash growth cycle. Removal is a separate service on all three lists, at AED 100 at Downtown and AED 100 or 120 at the other two, so extensions can be taken off properly rather than picked at.

Do extensions damage your natural lashes?

With the right weight and careful isolation, no. Damage happens when extensions are too long or too heavy for the lash carrying them, or when several natural lashes are glued together so they cannot shed independently.

That is the argument for mapping to your own lashes instead of chasing maximum volume, and it is what the consultation at the start of the appointment is for.

If your natural lashes are weak, start with a lighter volume rather than the fullest set. If you are prone to adhesive allergies, a patch test beforehand is wise.

How can you tell it was done well?

The lashes should separate. Each extension sits on its own natural lash rather than bridging two, so none of your own lashes are bonded to a neighbour and each can still shed on its own cycle.

Nothing should be uncomfortable during the appointment or sore afterwards. Extensions are set slightly off the lid, not against it, and a set that stings or feels tight has been placed too close.

The eye should look open rather than heavy. A lash map that suits the eye shape puts the longest lashes where they lift the eye, which is a different result from putting the longest lashes everywhere.

What to do in the first 48 hours

For the first 24 to 48 hours keep lashes away from water, steam and high humidity while the adhesive fully cures. Hot showers, the steam room and the pool all count, which is worth planning around before booking a set in a Dubai summer.

After that, brush them through, avoid oil-based eye products, and do not rub your eyes. Mascara and oily removers are not needed on extensions and work against them.
