Haircut and Blow-Dry in Dubai: What It Costs

A stylist blow-drying a client's hair in the salon

The short answer

A haircut is AED 420 at Downtown Dubai and from AED 420 at Dubai Marina, rising to from AED 500 at Palm Jumeirah. A blow-dry starts at AED 170 and a cut booked with styling at AED 500. Downtown Dubai charges one rate for a cut. Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah price the same cut three ways, by the stylist who takes it: Hair Stylist, Top Stylist or Art Director.

The same service can therefore appear at three figures on one list and a single figure on another. Neither is a discount or a surcharge.

The cut and styling menu runs to forty rows across the three salons. Cut, trim, fringe trim, blow-dry in two grades and three lengths, hair up, braids and a signature styling line, with a kids' haircut at two of the three.

What is on the cut and styling menu?

A haircut stands on its own, or with styling as a single line at a higher price. A trim is cheaper again and sits apart from a full cut: Downtown Dubai and Palm Jumeirah both label it an addition to another hair service, while Dubai Marina lists it on its own. A fringe trim is its own row everywhere, from AED 140.

Blow-dry comes in two grades, classic and styling, and each is priced short, medium or long. Hair up is the occasion line, on all three lists. Braids and a signature styling line sit at Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah.

A kids' haircut is at Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina, from AED 160, and both lists cap it at eight years old. Palm Jumeirah does not carry the row.

What none of the lists set out is method. They give you the name of the service and the price, and what separates a classic blow-dry from a styling one, or a signature styling from an ordinary one, is a question for the stylist at booking rather than something the menu answers.

What does a haircut cost in Dubai?

Downtown Dubai Dubai Marina Palm Jumeirah
Haircut AED 420 from AED 420 from AED 500
Cut with styling AED 500 from AED 500 from AED 600
Fringe trim AED 140 from AED 140 from AED 170
Kids' haircut AED 160 from AED 160 not on the list
Blow-dry, classic from AED 170 from AED 170 from AED 200
Blow-dry, styling from AED 220 from AED 220 from AED 265
Signature styling not on the list from AED 350 from AED 420

Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina open at the same figure for a cut, AED 420. Palm Jumeirah opens AED 80 above them, and it sits above both on every row in the table. A cut with styling is AED 500 at two salons and AED 600 at the third.

Where a figure reads "from", the salon prices that service by stylist grade or by hair length, and the number shown is the entry point rather than the only price. A cut at Dubai Marina is AED 420 with a Hair Stylist and rises through Top Stylist to Art Director. A blow-dry is priced short, medium or long, so the "from" figure is the short-hair price.

Two rows sit outside the table on purpose. Braids are on the Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah lists, and hair up is on all three, but the price for both is being reconciled against the booking systems, so confirm either at the branch rather than reading a figure off here.

Classic or styling: which blow-dry is which?

Both are on every list, both are priced short, medium or long, and styling is the dearer of the two at every salon. At Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina a classic blow-dry opens at AED 170 and styling at AED 220. At Palm Jumeirah the same pair opens at AED 200 and AED 265.

What the lists do not say is what the extra buys. They carry the names and the prices, not the method, so ask the stylist which of the two fits what you have in mind when you book.

Which salon carries what?

Cut, trim, fringe trim, blow-dry in both grades, and hair up are on all three lists, and four things are not.

A kids' haircut, capped at eight years old, is at Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina. Palm Jumeirah has no row for it.

Braids are at Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, not Downtown Dubai. A signature styling line is at the same two, from AED 350 at Dubai Marina and from AED 420 at Palm Jumeirah.

A trim is worded differently depending on where you book. Downtown Dubai and Palm Jumeirah both file it as an addition to another hair service, so it goes on top of something else. Dubai Marina lists it as a service in its own right.

What to ask when you book

Which grade of stylist is the appointment with, at Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah. The figure on the list is the entry grade, and the person you book decides which of the three prices applies.

Which length band a blow-dry falls into. Short, medium and long are separate prices, and the difference between the ends of that range is AED 50 at Downtown Dubai and more at Palm Jumeirah.

Whether a trim can be booked on its own. At Downtown Dubai and Palm Jumeirah the row is written as an addition to another hair service.

What a styling blow-dry includes over a classic one, and what a signature styling covers. Neither is set out on any list.

If you are booking colour, keratin or extensions in the same visit, those are separate sections of the menu with their own pricing logic. Balayage, shatush and Air Touch are priced by length rather than by stylist grade, keratin sits at Dubai Marina alone, and extensions are quoted at consultation rather than off a row.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a haircut in Dubai?

At UNIQUE PERSONA, AED 420 at Downtown Dubai, from AED 420 at Dubai Marina and from AED 500 at Palm Jumeirah. Booking the cut with styling is AED 500, AED 500 and AED 600 respectively.

Why does the same haircut have three prices?

Because Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah price by the grade of the stylist rather than by the service alone. The three figures are Hair Stylist, Top Stylist and Art Director. Downtown Dubai charges one rate whoever takes the appointment.

What is the difference between a classic and a styling blow-dry?

The price and the name. Classic opens at AED 170 and styling at AED 220 at Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina, and at AED 200 and AED 265 at Palm Jumeirah. What the method involves is not written on any of the three lists, so ask at booking.

Which salon does braids?

In short

A haircut opens at AED 420 and a blow-dry at AED 170 across the three salons, with Palm Jumeirah above the other two on every row. Downtown Dubai runs one price for a cut; Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah run three, set by the grade of the stylist. Blow-dry splits into classic and styling, then into three lengths, at every branch, kids' cuts are at two of the three, and braids at a different two. The full menu sits on the hair pages.
